About Kalinga English Medium School
This School is a progressive, liberal, English medium. We believe that the fundamental purpose of education is to encourage the children to bring about a positive modification in their career as they ascend the ladder of learning and knowledge.
Late Smt.Nilimarani Samanta, mother of Dr.Achyuta Samanta wished to establish a CBSE Pattern School in her native village, Kalarabank. Accordingly Dr. Achyuta Samanta initiated and started Kalinga English Medium School in 2007. First the school was functioned in a rented house at Raghunathpur with 270 students from Nursery to Std VI in the year 2008.
The school was shifted to its permanent new building with its full ultramodern high-tech school infrastructure. The first Std-X batch appeared the CBSE Board Examination in 2012 and presented a remarkable result. Meanwhile Dr. Iti Samanta, editor Kadambini and Kunikatha and also an eminent social worker took charge of the management of the school and brought the apex development of the school.
The school got CBSE Affiliation in 2014. As per the needs of the parents, a hostel facility for boys and girls was started in 2008. At present, the school is having its three storied building with 48 rooms and a conference hall.
The present strength of the school is 970 students starting from Nursery to Std-X. There are 50 trained and skilled teachers are imparting their services in the school.As the students are coming from nearby rural and urban areas, the school transports department is engaging 16 vehicles in the nominal charge. For interested students midday meals is provided at a minimum rate.
Shri Shri Raghunath Jew temple and KIMS rural branch hospital are being attached to the campus of the school, for the spiritual development and health care of students. All these institutions are the gifts from Mother Nilimarani Samanta and Dr. Achyuta Samanta to the society.
